A Quick History Lesson (and a Mysterious “S”)

Our legal name is American Adventure Labs, LLC — and yes, that “s” at the end is very intentional. More on that little mystery later. For now, just know it wasn’t a typo or some weird legal hiccup. We meant to do it.

From the beginning, we always loved the name Adventure Lab. It had the right vibe. Short. Memorable. A little rugged. A little scientific. The kind of place where clever solutions and trail-tested gear come together over the hum of a laser and the occasional sound of shop banter about burrito orders.

But when it came time to buy the domain, AdventureLab.com was “available” for $14,000. Yeah… that’s a hard pass from a startup that was bootstrapping its way through product development and caffeine-fueled R&D. So instead, we did what any resourceful American manufacturer would do — we adapted.

We leaned into our roots and branded the company as American Adventure Lab — highlighting our obsession with in-house production and American-made gear. It worked. The name stood strong, and the company grew like a trail dog in a steakhouse.

Fast-forward to today: we finally got our hands on AdventureLab.com. Nope, we didn’t pay the ransom. We waited, we pounced, and we snagged it fair and square. Because as it turns out, good things come to those who refresh expired domain listings for five straight years.

So here we are. Same team. Same passion. Still 100% made in the USA. Just with fewer letters to type.
